I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
